Introduction

Hello, I am Mandy. I currently attend the Art Fundamentals class as a first year in college. Art has always been an important part of my life. I've come to love the way inspiration can push someone to become so restless until they must express themselves in some way, shape, or form. The thought that every work of art and expression once stemmed from something less, something blank, until meaning was given to it amazes me. I want to try to surround myself with art and inspiration. I also want to discover more about the structure and history of art. And so, I feel I would greatly enjoy and benefit from this course.

One of my favorite artists is Vincent van Gogh. I admire Vincent van Gogh's art because it always seems to come to life. When I look at his art, I see the lines in movement and the colors flickering. It's almost as if the painting projects from the canvas. "Starry Night Over the Rhone" is currently my favorite painting by Vincent van Gogh.
